Alan Grayson is on it again. Great to see that at least some politicians are doing their job. I urge you to take a look at his other hearings.

What the Banksters Did to America. It’s Horrible

Posted by Kristjan Velbri | Posted in Video | Posted on 18-05-2009

UPDATE! This video was removed overnight. Here’s another version of it (Youtube censorship).
A woman is forcefully arrested for trespassing on her own property!
Dawn Welsh thought her house was paid off. She received paperwork from her bank showing it was paid off, but through a series of her mortgage being bought and sold, Wachovia Bank was the final owner of the mortgage and claimed Welsh was still owed on her home despite papers showing otherwise.

Today, Hillsboro, Missouri police came onto her property and broke her door down to remove her from her property near St. Louis. They used a battering ram to enter her home, despite her showing evidence in the past that she owned the property. She had gone to court previously and showed a judge the mortgage was paid in full, and it is a record of the court. However, these are desperate times for Wachovia who continued to threaten the 54-year-old woman.

How will this crisis end? In bloodshed? If you have experienced anything like this or know of any other similar cases and would like to share your story, please feel free to do it in the comments section.

The Credit Crisis Visualized

Posted by Kristjan Velbri | Posted in Finance, Video | Posted on 16-05-2009

GOOD Magazine had a global finance infographic competition. All in all, there were 10 submissions. The winner received $500.

Check it out: Making Sense of the Financial Mess

The results are out now and the winner is Jonathan Jarvis from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.  If you like his work (the first two green graphs) then you should definitely see his video on the same topic. Personally, I think his work is outstanding and I would recommend it to everyone who is confused by all the financial jargon associated with the current credit crisis. Remember credit default swaps? Or collateralized debt obligations? Well, he takes good care to explain them all to you.
If you know any other good visualizations, be sure to post them in the comments section!
